These pics are great, rufus! Your blog has already been a big help to me in my search for the right Chinook, and I’m sure it will continue to be once I’ve finally got one. At the moment I’ve got some interior-related questions, so I thought I’d post them here.
Your Chinook has the “L” shaped bench/bed like the one pictured here, right? What is its width? And does that still leave a little room between the bed and the galley? If so, how much? Would there be space for me to make the bed wider if I modified it to go all the way to the galley?
I’ve also looked at a few Chinooks online that have the other floor plan (I forget which is “Gaucho” and which is “Dinette”). For meals, I like the idea of two bench seats facing each other. And for sleeping, it looks like that bed might be wider, but I’m skeptical about its length. That configuration seems fine for the larger Newport/Omega Chinooks, but it just doesn’t seem like the pop top Chinook is wide enough for most adults to lay comfortably perpendicular to the length of the camper shell. Any thoughts on that?
