Can you contact me please. I have some questions about the Chinooks. I am a USAF Wounded Warrior injured by a IED. I will be getting medically retired and will be returning back home to Alaska. Looking into getting one so I can use it to go fishing and some hunting. But really need information and someone to talk to that are familiar with them. Right now Im in the Joint Base San Antonio Military Medical system in Texas having my surgeries and medical appts. So I have a little bit of time until I will be getting out.
I’m not a Chinook expert. But I am obsessed with them. I have one and it’s the perfect road trip and adventure vehicle for me. I post photos of my chinook and others I find online. Hope you have a speedy recovery!
Rufus or anybody – I am a disabled person and will have to live in an RV – any tips/leads on how to get the best Toyota Chinook for the money
If I was going to permanently live in an RV, I wouldn’t get a Chinook unless it was the Omega or Newport. I would want something larger that I could stand in without the pop top. For buying tips, just keep an eye on Craigslist and wait for a good one.
Looks like an enjoyor!
I built a 4×4 chinook as well.
If you want to add it, i put some of the pictures here but can send you any that you like,
The silver one? That’s awesome! send me some more photos and I’ll post them here.
Hey I have a chinook that would be a great addition to this website. Its a 1974 with 56,000 original miles, its in amazing condition. Please let me know how i can share it on here. Thanks
I have a chinook that would be a great addition, can i email you some pictures?
Yeah, that would be great. I’ll post them here. email@example.com
I’m interested in buying a Toyota Chinook. Where do I begin? I fell in love. It was love at first sight. As soon as I saw one I knew it was exactly what I’ve been looking for…
Yeah, love at first sight here too. I kept an eye on Craigslist and waited for a good one to show up.
Haha I can’t believe this is your blog Rufus. Ever since I saw your Chinook parked behind 4into1 I had to find one. Picked up a 1976 in Santa Cruz right before moving to the East Coast. Basically any money I had left over from buying parts went into the truck!
That’s cool. I’ll have to get mine going again soon.
Does anyone know if you can install power steering in a 1977 Chinook?
