Really nice mostly original example. I own a 1978 MPG model with the same color coordinations. Mine has about 103.000 miles. Sure do admire the replacement seats in the 1977 version – LOL. . . .
Re: the high back seats — the post-’76 Chinooks tended to come with high back seats standard. The ones in my ’77 are original. Same orange-ish brown, woven-y-looking vinyl upholstery as the ’76 low backs, just a different shape. It’s definitely possible for a small to medium sized, able bodied person to squeeze through the cab-coach pass through with the high back seats. You’ve just gotta be careful not to inadvertently give yourself the Heimlich Maneuver in the process! To make life easier, at least some of the ’78 pop top Chinooks combined high back seats with the kind of cab roof cutaway we see in the Newport/Omegas and other Toyota motor homes. One of them is the Gazelle pictured in an old post on this blog.

Hi is this for sale ? Wondering if there’s a link ?
Super nice example. I’m wondering about the newer seats — what the donor vehicle was.
are those clamps on the exterior to hold down the pop top original or added after?
My 1978 chinook gazelle is in way better shape mine is all original
